The results "are extremely encouraging and what many of us had hoped we's see when the trial started," echoed Dr. Robert Schooley.

"There's still a long way to go from here before we will be able to give the vaccine to the public, but at least we have a candidate that generates the right kind of immune response," Schooley said.
