Hi Welcome to TheBody. There are some fairly knowledgable folks here and there is an ASK THE EXPERTS feature. We are not doctors so we can only speak from experience. There is often a lot of experience on these boards. !!!! Anyway, hope you are doing well, what were your numbers following bloodwork?

I've never had any trouble with my Lexiva.
As far as the Combivir. It gave me a couple of days of bad headaches (the AZT), but that was it. Later we found that I was resistant to the Epivir in the combo and it wasn't doing me any good. Which brings up an important point.
Before you start any medication, you should have a Pheno/Genetype test done to make sure that what your doctor wants to start you on will work.
Good Luck.

What's your cd4 count and viral load. Why does your doc want you to start therapy? Also why not Truvada and Sustiva as a combo? Truvada has less side effects. You can also take this combo as one drug called atripla (which is Truvada Plus Sustiva...all in one).
