Hi. I have just been diagnosed with a CD4 count of 11, and a viral load of 820,000. I may start teatment with Epzicom + Reyataz and I wanted to know if anybody else had started with this regimen, or is currently on it, and what they thought of it? Thanks.

I know the Epzicom can be an issue, the Abacavir can cause an allergic reaction and if you allow it to continue could cause death. Your doctor will explain that to you at length. They will just switch you before anything like that developes. No details on Reyataz from my perspective. I found my intial first line drug therapy to be easy. No side effects whatsoever. I am happy about that.
Best,

Hi Eric. Please can you let me know which regimen you started on, and what your viral load / cd4 count were at the time? Thanks.

My meds are below my name. I cant tell you if its Truvada or Epzicom because this is a blind study. Both are equal as far as my ID specialist is concerned and would have no probelms Px'ing either one. My CD4 & VL have not been given to me since I went on meds 3 weeks ago. They should be interesting in the next few days to find out. Although, I really dont care. As long as my doc is all over it, why should I be? I put them up there just to remind me. But I dont raly behind a number. I will raly when I see my trends down the road..
All My Best,
