How common is it to get a fever after you get infected? Would it normally be a high fever? Another website I was on stated that fever was predominantly present during the conversion phase where you show symptoms? -Carl

That is common, but to be able to ID this as conversion can also be ID'd with a flu... Test!

About 1/3rd of guys who get HIV get sero-conversion symptoms - just like bad flu-type symptoms. My seroconversion illness started beginning of December and just kept going and going... I've still got a touch of it now, two days after testing positive. I had a high fever, sore throad and a rash over my face and chest, and lymph nodes in my groin and neck came up, just like you'd get with a bad case of the flu. But after I'd had it more than a couple of weeks I knew, and tested. If you haven't been tested I'd urge you to go and know - early diagnosis is related to better outcomes. Peace, Matt.
