need help with alternative meds

Hi I have no health insurance and a poor income , I need to find some kind of alternative medicine RIGHT NOW, I can not go on toxic pills right now anyways so if someone can point me in the right direction that will be great for me.

"Toxic" pills? I don't think so. You have 2 choices: Take the meds and live or don't and die. Really simple. There are patient assistance programs to help people who have no insurance. Go to an AIDS organization and speak to a case worker. You can get the meds, if you want to commit to them and you believe in them. Sounds like you have doubts...look at the statistics. Before the meds in the US HIV was a fatal illness. Now women with HIV are having babies and getting mortgages. They are on treatment! Others are taking overseases jobs or starting new careers. They are on meds. If you want to watch your immune system fall apart and if you want to risk pneumonia and a long list of other opportunistic infections go ahead. But you've been warned. Luckily it takes an average of 10 years from the time you got infected to show symptoms (by then your immune system is in pretty bad shape...). Good luck!

This is so true. Your health facility can also point you in the right direction on how to obtain state insurance. See if they have case managers or social workers, they will help you obtain the insurance you would need to take the meds that will help maintain a healthy lifestyle.
and most hospitals if you qualify have free care for pts who are under a certain income (if any at all). Please look into these things. I know you may have heard alot about toxicity, but with the new regimins.....there isn't as much damage as it is good these days

Hi, testing positive is always a hard pill to swallow! My advise is to find out what your CD4 count and viral load are - if you read other sections on this site you will have a pretty good idea when treatment should be started. I have been positive for the last 10 years but only started taking meds a few months ago after my system started showing signs of weakening - i have had no health complications and i thank God for that. Who knows you might not need to start treatment right away if your system is 'almost' normal! find out with your doctor.

I think you missed the point , I have no insurance all I need is some info on what natural remedies I can take to help me , I will not go on toxic pills I am not interested in living to 100 just 40. I have no internet service I am at the library right now so if anyone can please leave some info how I can help myself with alternative remedies please do so if you are going to tell me to take toxic pills and join a welfare program sorry guy it is not in my cards I am not a selfish person I will live as long as I can free of the toxins and live happy

well, I would have to say, I understand your concern about not wanting to put toxicity into your body. I wish I never did either. But what concerns me is the NEED THE ADVICE RIGHT NOW?? Because that causes me to believe that your numbers are not doing so well. If you really want to try to do something other than "life saving" medications, try speaking to a nutritionist, they can help advise you on some good foods for your immune system. Daily vitamins can't hurt, and it may be helpful (for your mind also) doing some accupuncture. But you should also be aware, if your numbers are looking seriously like you NEED meds, then you are not just becoming another welfare case to become a citiizen who wants to live. You do not have to be on welfare to recieve state medical benefits. And I don't know how old you are now, but I can almost promise you won't live to 100 even on these meds. But why do you want to stop at 40. You dont think thats young. My son will only be 7 yrs old when I am 40, how do you know where you will be in your life at that time.
Good luck in your choices, I wish I knew more that could possibly help, but if your body (or doctor) is saying your immune system is suffering, then, alternatives will only help make you feel okay....just for a short while.....and then you will have no control over what happens to your body.

Those 'toxic' pills sure are helping alot of people live longer and better. And, isn't poverty FUN? i know i love poverty. I can't give you any pointers about that except to have fun with it. If you have no health insurance, keep trying to obtain some; in the mean time live the very best you can and take care of yourself. reduce your strss, exercise, eat the best you can LOVE YOURSELF and get plenty of sleep. Don't smoke or use. Try to compensate for not having health insurance and the poor income. How long ago was it that you did something that made you feel happy?? When we feel happy, chemicals are produced in our bodies that heal us. Try singing.

actually YOU'VE missed the point. when you get to age 40, which believe me is just around the corner. You'll wish you'd changed your attitude. Doesn't matter to me, if you have a death wish, why don't you just jump off a bridge and be done with it. Get the suffering of the people who love you over with. Are you going to DIE with HIV or LIVE WITH HIV. it's all attutude, and your attitude sucks !! And until you make changes in your life to change your attitude-- -well i'm just glad I'm not you. One thing about toxic pills. If aspirin were invented today, i doubt it would be put on the market. All pills and chemicals that save lives are also toxic. Yet these toxic substances save lives if used properly. Your logic of toxic substances makes you sound like an idiot. Are you ?? get a grip
