unprotected oral sex

i have been worrying for about a year now that i may have contracted HIV through a couple of unprotected oral sex encounters with my ex boyfriend, he wasn't very nice to me and tried to make me have sex with him without a condom. I refused. However, at this time i didin't know you could catch it through oral sex he didn't come in my mouth but i am still terrified . I keep thinking my glands in my neck are swollen and am constantly touching them. I fear too much to go and have a test. My current boyfirend is very supportive but we never have sex as I get feelings of guilt and am scared for him. i spend all my time reading about symtons and everything i can find really, i have become totally obsessed and it is ruling my life Please help, do you think i am being totally over the top as every one else thinks i am or is there a real potential i may be infected.

Well first off, oral is considered low risk. Secondly your ex boyfriend would have had to be positive to infected you. Do you think he's positive or has anyone told you that he might be?
You say your terrified and keep feeling the glands in your neck, that will cause then to swell, not to mention the stress your putting yourself under. As for reading about the symptoms, stop doing that. A lot of people will read about symptoms then find that they are having them. There are no symptoms exclusive to HIV so you can't depend on things like that.
It seems like your past relationship was kinda abusive. You said that your ex tried to make you have sex with him without a condom, sounds like he didn't respect you or your feelings. It also sounds like you have found a much better BF. I'm sure at some point you would like to have sex with him and since you care about him, you need to make sure that your negative. I'd talk to him more about your feeling scared and ask him if he would go with you to get tested.
I'm sorry to say that getting tested is the only way you will know if there is anything to worry about or not. I'd also think about maybe talking to a counselor about your fears, while they are normal, even you say you've become totally obsessed and it's ruling your life. Which is not a good thing.
Your fear of HIV is something that you will get over in time and with help. But you need to get help, but with being tested just to put your mind at ease and with a counselor to deal with your fears and obsession.
As for thinking that you have any real potential for being infected. NO I don't and the only reason why I recommend getting tested is so you can see that Negative test result and let go of the fear.

If he was such a jerk...I would get checked for other sexually transmitted diseases...like gonorrhea. But you have little or no risk for HIV...

well i think that oral sex is not such a very high risker at contracting the diagnosis of AIDS because thats all it is ,is a diagnosis that you cant get rid of i mean the only real way of contracting this VIRUS is if the male/female has a sore on their ginitalia and of cource if you see a sore hopefully you'll think highly of yourself and not do it use your head i love ya k.i.t
