i am doing this for my daughter. she's 17 but doesn't want to go on here. i thought if i could show her other straight girls with hiv it would help her & maybe she'd write to you. sorry, because i made it sound like she wrote it. i wasn't sure anyone would answer. i'm going to try to get her to go on here. thanks

You are an amazing mother. I can't even imagine my Mom doing this.
When I want to talk to people I call a group in Calif. called Women Alive: 800-554-4876. everyone on the phone is an HIV positive woman. Also Rebecca at World (another women's org.) knows some teens with AIDS
I call her sometimes. 510-986-0340
she's great and even though she's positive she had twin daughters who are both negative. She's married to a negative man. She gives me hope that I can do anything I want.
And tell your daughter that we need her on the web. there are not a lot of teens. especially one's who go to college. (I'm in school)

Wow! never met someone my own age with HIV. Havent told my parents. they would kill me and never understand. I'm not taking treatment yet. my viral load is ok and my t cell count is high. It's hard dating. Once I told a guy and you should have seen him run. So I don't tell anyone now. I'm pretty depressed sometimes. But i'm in school now, so keep busy. I found out last year when I decided to get tested. I really didn't think I'd be positive....Did you just find out?

The trick of it is to be positive and not worry about it.Worrying and stress will kill you fast.i think the hardest thing
is dateing. its been a long time for me. They have alot of meds out there. I take combination of drugs and i feel

Hi, i'm an 18 yr old straight girl and live in England - am I right in saying that you're all from the states?
I got recently diagnosed, about 2 weeks ago, to be honest I was shatted - I really do have so much hatred for my ex boyfriend of 2 yrs. It's so hard to find people my age with it - and it's such a relief to know that there are people out their. Tomorrow I find out my blood cell counts - I hope I don't have to go on medication. I am so worried.
