Hi, My partner is HIV+ and has recently been put onto DDI and AZT. I think, as a consequence, has become one of the most unfriendly, annoying people in the world. Is this common, have other people gone through this and come out the other side? I need help on how to cope - and to know that it will pass. Thanks. Mark Bain.

Hi Mark! I´m HIV positive since a long time, and living together with a man. I too can be a pain in the ..., when I start a new therapy. I think it's because I have to face reality about being ill. I get sad and depressed. It usually don´t last very long (a few weeks at the most). Try to give your partner a little space, but make it clear that your there when he needs you. Maybe you can do something nice together, perhaps a holiday to get away for a few days. I´m sorry to say that your partner is probably having a really hard time, and doesen´t really know how to cope. Hopefully it will get better in the near future. If you have more questions, just ask! Peter in Sweden.
