SERO converted Child

we are a heterosexual couple looking to adopt a child thru the state of nj. one of the special needs type of child is a sero converted child. can anyone provide any insight as to what this is and what the chances are that a child born with HIV may "grow" out of it?

Hm, if child has HIV unfortunately s/he's not going to "grow out of it". However, children of HIV-infected mothers are born with their mothers' antibodies and therefore will test positive for HIV. They need to get re-tested at 6 months of age to verify whether the child is infected or not. Please check with the agency to see if HIV diagnosis was confirmed after 6 months. Hope that helps.
