Staying in faith and prayer-my brother is HIV+
      #255832 - 05/24/11 10:16 PM

So grateful to discover this resource and am hoping to find support and be supportive. My brother was diagnosed + in March and he told me in April. Since that day, my life has not been the same. I love my brother more than anything in the world. We are very, very close--our whole family is--and this is the toughest thing we've been through. And we've been through a lot! I am a Christian and am believing for his healing, believing that God will move in his life, bless him with strength and bring the right doctors and medications across his path so that he can be healed and restored. Some days, faith is more difficult than others and I'd love to know what keeps your faith strong, even when in the natural the situation seems bleak. I also just want to stay informed, up to date on treatment options, research, and anything that can contribute to his continued health and healing. God Bless you all--I pray for all of you and for your loved ones!!

do you know your brother's lab numbers? does he usually take care of his body? i think it's important how he chooses to respond and how proactive he is when it comes to staying staying healthy. all the right doctors and right meds can come his way, but if he ignores them, it's not helpful.

so you just have to get on his case about taking care of himself. getting exercise. eating right. making sure he's not smoking cigarettes or abusing drugs. adhering to his medication, if he and his doctor think he needs to start meds. as long as he understands he can still live a long, healthy life. and still go out and socialize and be a "normal" person as they say.

Yes it is hard to have Faith when everything around you seems not fair!! I am also a Christian and have a loved one with AIDS & I thought oh it can't happen to us kinda thing especially since he was 9yrs old when he got HIV but I try stay positive and I know that the Lord heals but I also know that we have to to our part as well. Like I prayed over my nephews meds but he stopped taking them. but I am still thanking the Lord for his healing. All we can do in this situation is Pray & give it all to God! and no matter the out come we still stand on HIS Word! That's awesome you are there for your brother! He is goin to need alot of encouraging & support. If he takes meds make sure he takes them as he's suppose to ok.I will keep you & your family in prayer May the Lord give you & all your family peace & comfort. God Bless you
