Ex-BF exposed. intentionally

I just found out that my ex BF (we remain friends) exposed himself intentionally to HIV. He is waiting for his test results to come back. He has been engaging in very high risk behavior. I know that this is 'his' problem, but I also want to be there for him as a friend, but sometimes the line is a little blurry because of our history.
I am also a public health worker, so I am trying to encourage him to take care of himself, but often findmyself overstepping my bounds.
is there anything I can say or do to help him take care of himself, physically AND mentally?
