How long will He Live?

my brother was told he had AIDS in 1995 hes lived a long time but now the doctors have taken ALL meds away from him except morphine to keep him comfortable. my question is this with his CD4's at 0 and a walking skeleton who is almost bed ridden what am i to expect

I'm so sorry that your brother is so ill. Why have they taken his meds away and why is his count at 0? Had he been on HAART? People can live a very, very long time with proper meds----I'm not sure what is going on, my husband has been positive since 1984 not on meds and just got sick this past sep, yet is going pretty strong, he had cd count of under 10, but it up to 30 and is going pretty strong. Co-infected with hep b and c. Esphagul thrush was initial AIDS diagnosis, wasting syndrome. Talk to the doctors, ask the questions, demand the answers. My prayers are with you and may God bless.

i don't think any of us know how long he will live. yes, the doc may give you a better time frame, but we are not doc's and not knowing any type of prognosis or more info on his situation, no one is going to be able to tell you how long. first and foremost, we are not God................

Girl I know how difficult this is for you and scarey I'm sure. And I would love to tell you that all will be well. Doesn't seem like he was diagnosed for really very long. And if dr's took him off meds it must be that they have tried all things. Without really knowing all that surrounds his situation I hesatate to really speculate. But if what appears to be is true then you just need to let him know that his life is just going to take a different way. Does he have any beliefs in the spiritual sense? It really does make a difference. I thank God that a dear friend that finally after many years was also was taken off meds developed a relationship with God thru Jesus Christ. And that gave not only him but his girlfriend much comfort. Sure you'll miss him so much hon. and wish I could say all will get better but I think you know as well what will be soon .
