Newly Diagnosed but optimistic
      #103713 - 07/27/04 06:06 PM

I developed PCP pnuemonia last year in July. I was terrified at first. I am a recovering addict and thought I had escaped such illnessess when I entered into recovery in 1997. I was terrified at first. I had just turned 40 years old and was ill on my birthday. However, God immediately surrounded me with Angels who let me know I would be alright. The HIV Team at my medical center who told me that people were living longer and that the medications were working good and that I had a full life still ahead of me. My sponsor, my family, my husband and many, many friends in Narcotics Anonymous. Since then my T-Cells which were 50 have tripled. My Viral Load is undetectable. I sit on the HIV Advisory Board at my Hospital, I'm part of a Title IV Consumer group, I'm a Perinatal Peer Advocate and most of all I'm blessed. I have not been sick like I was last year since then. I recently walked in the Aids Walk and raised 1,000.00 for the Aids Foundation. I am truly blessed. I get depressed sometimes knowing I have a life threatening illness but joy always comes in the morning. If you're newly diagnosed talk to me, I'm a living example of Gods work!

:) You Go Girl!!!! Keep up the positive attitude and spread it around!!! If you have any good Positive affirmations or quotes you should post them in the "Messages of hope.." post. Take Care and may the angels continue to watch over you and cloak you with their wings.

Blesed, I think you are wonderful and a true inspiration for many to read. Your story is one of difficulty and triumph. It just goes to show everyone what alittle help from "our angels" above and Gods love can do. The power of positive thinking my friend! Keep it up and God bless you. ~Jessie~

I hope my husbands guardian angels will also take care of him, I know they do, he was diagnosed two months ago, cd count 39, I thought he would go, no the cd is 50, we still have a long way to go, but I hope and pray he will recover.
Your messages gives me hope, and I know somebody is caring for all of us.

Great posting!

Like yourselt, recovered addict.
When I was in rehab, my spiriutal awakening, was similiar.
I stood in front of the cottage at the center, and had this intense, warm feeling, and the light around me, turned a hazy white, and this continued for about three minutes, I think, it was like being susppended in time. Neverless, it was wonderful, and after I felt so peaceful..

Life is good!..We can help one another, and it is great that you are giving back..

((HUGS)))....Jay
