You should see a physcian.

What's happening is since you are just infected, the virus is REPLICATING and your body hasn't properly responded to it yet.

What should happen is, you should get your NUMBERS every 3 months.

If your CD4 doesn't drop more than to anything lower than 700 and your VIRAL LOAD starts to drop there is no immediate rush to do MEDS.

But if you see a drastic drop in your CD4 Count and your VIRAL LOAD doesn't change or grows, you should look into MEDS.

Usually a person doesn't need to start MEDS until their CD4 is below 250. But in your case if your CD4 starts dropping and your VIRAL LOAD increases it means you body isn't doing a great job of fighting off the infection.

So moniter it for about 6 months. Your viral load SHOULD begin to drop.

It also sounds like you had a pretty bad SEROCONVERSION. When do you think you were infected and when did you test ANTIBODY POZ???

I tested positive in 2/04 and prior to that I had some swollen nodes in my neck is all. Never felt like the flu, but since I found out, the nodes and flu symptoms have come and gone. I have not lost any weight. Im not sure if they are psychosomatic or for real. Anxiety can do nasty things to you. Anyway my CD4 cound is nearly 1000 last time (end of April) and my VL was 29000. My doc is pleased and doesnt want to put me on meds until the VL gets closer to 50000 or my CD4 drops below 350. If it were not for these "side effects" I would feel great. Not so sure how much of it is in my head, but I am seeing a counselor to deal with that element also. My doc has me on Juice PLus program for nutritional supplementation and that should help the T cell count and immune system overall. Make sure you have a good doc, he/she should have many HIV patients, you dont want to be the first. I suspect I was exposed sometime during the summer or 03. My initial readings were CD4 of 500 and VL of 31000. At least the numbers are headed in the right direction.

I was tested 4-17-04 pos. but I tested in 1991 and I was pos. then they did another wb and it came back neg. then last june I tested again and I was neg. I seen my doctor today and he said that I could of had it for a couple of years and that my vl was so low that they could not deticted . So I really don't know when I was infected .That is the part that is really bothering me is when and from whom!!!! I was told that I should not worry about where and who just worry about doing the right stuff in taking care of my health!! Right now my cd4 is 999 and my vl is 37 thousand . I go back in july for lab to see what my counts are then.

This doesn't seem like an infection you have had for 14 years.

Your last test, NEG in JUNE seems correct.

Your numbers give the appearance that you were JUST infected. Prob early this year.

Because to have that high of a viral load and still have an AMAZING CD4 count, it shows that your infection is relatively early.

Usually people with that high of a VIRAL LOAD have low or dropping CD4 numbers not 999. 999 is an AMAZING number for the healthiest person.

High VL and a HIGH CD4 count MAINLY appears in people who were just infected.

And I'm assuming you can think of a risk, there is no need to test NEG in june, then again test in april if you didn't think there was SOME type of risk.

Lastly, that last statement your doctor said seems flipid and out of place. Elisa test doesn't test your Viral Load, it test ANTIBODIES. So unless you took a PCR test, I don't know how you viral load would factor into testing.

You have an amazing tcell count..Mine is 97 and my v.L. is undectable..Some days i feel normal, and some days, i cantget off the couch..I try not to get caught up[in numbers..I just go with the flow..Ive beenhiv pos. for 18 yrs and just started meds 2 yrs ago..I waited to long.My tcells were down to27...but they do flucate..and as long as i feelgood, iam ok......Hiv is not a death sentence..Or else I would of been dead 18 yrs ago..Iam still here and still looking good..just wish icould get my tcells above 200..then id be a happycamper..anything below 200 is considered full blow aids..which i dont understand, because i feel great.....its still a mystery to me and thedoctors....but life will go on, and there comingout with better meds.....so theres hope for us all.

I do not know if this is normal at your stage of the virus but I do know how to stop all symptoms of Aids and keep it in remission. Please send me a street address of your choice and I will forward the information. harveyholloway@msn.com.
