Documentary Project on Living with HIV/AIDS today
      #92803 - 03/22/04 05:33 PM

Hi!
I am a student filmmaker working on a Community Based Media Project intended to be about, by and for people affected by and/or infected with HIV/AIDS.
In looking to include the community in the process I would like to ask (with gratitude) for any input on what you would include if you were making a documentary on living with HIV/AIDS today?
What aspects of HIV/AIDS do you feel get overlooked?
What would you like answered?
What would you tell people?
Anything anyone wants to share would be greatly appreciated. The point of this piece to to be an accurate reflection of a complicated and varied community and to be a mutally beneficial piece as well. We are hoping the end product will be useful in fundraising for local groups and/or for broader public awareness.

Hi,
I definately have a perspective about life with HIV/AIDS
I believe I was exposed more than 20 years ago and I've been doing the protease cocktail for almost 8 years.

Hi
I got HIV by some one who said they loved me but had HIV for 10 years and never told me. He said he forgot. YA right. Tell them not to trust anyone unless you have prove they don't have it. I even asked if he got tested and he still didn't tell me.
I"ve been living in hell everysince I got it. Tell the people about the disease that you get from taking some of the HIV medication call Lipodystrophy and there no cure for that either. And you look really bad with that diease and have alot of emotional problems with it. You can't stand to look at your self. It's not really living with HIV (for me) that's the hardess its the medication that's killing me.
