Bush
      #92231 - 03/14/04 06:18 PM

Can I ask people on this forum to use logic in the next presidential election. Truthfuly, when the facts are laid out it would be best for everyone who is hiv to elect Bush for another term.

Why do you say? Under Clinton even though he promissed the world to you and did not deliver, telling someone what they want to hear and not delivering does mean something as sad as it sounds.

Clinton overegulated the FDA. That is a demmocratic policy. That means that several drugs that should have been approved were not.

Bush appointed Mark McClellan as commisioner of the FDA to overcome this and he has done well.

Truthfully, your fait is not in the hands of your doctor. He is nothing but a middle man. The scientists in the R&D part of the drug sector will save you if you let them.

Cary will limit the amout of help that can be provided to you the same way Clinton did. He will not give you the free ride that all democrats promise. It will be tough going without Bush.

Please do your researh before you respond. The biggest thing that America lacks is an informed decision. Do not reply to this shooting from the hip.

Before you suggest Bush is better then his presumptive rival in the upcoming election, maybe you should learn to spell his name (Kerry, not Cary). Just a suggestion.

I hope that you aren't for real. Just in cas that you are: 1. You need some help with spelling, and I suspect reading as well. 2. You need some help with reasoning for sure. The Bush administration would love to see you, and all hiv+ people dead. Their budget is a mess, which is resulting in many states closing ADAP. With the military spending, don't count on a cent for research. I could go on for hours, but if your positive, or care for someone who is, do NOT vote for Bush. It's a death sentence.

Apparently you missed 60 minutes tonight. I learned that the pharmaceutical companies stand to make BILLIONS with the latest Medicaid Bill that Bush just passed. The big pharmaceutical comapnies have already contributed ˝ million to his campaign.

Bush has set up a task force to make it ILLEGAL to buy pharmaceuticals from Canada in the guise that they may be “dangerous”. The drugs are made by companies all over the world and are the very same drugs that are sold in the US. The US provides drug companies with 50% of their profits because there is no regulation over how much they can change a person for a drug.

And as far as using “research and development” as an excuse for these exorbitant prices, that was directly contradicted by a woman scientist who was the head of some leading medical journal for several years. I cannot remember exactly her position but if you check on the 60 minutes website you can probably find her interview.

Is anything better about the state of medical care in this country since Bush took office? Not one damn thing. And the clincher is, his new Medicare Bill will not go into effect until AFTER the next election so most people will not realize just how swindled they have been until it is too late.

Clinton’s first task in office was to TRY and set up some sort of socialized medical plan. It was defeated but at least he tried. What was Bush’s first task? Well, besides pacifying all the right winged anti-abortionists who helped fund his campaign, by stopping ALL funding for family planning and women’s health clinics in certain third world countries, (remember these clinics also provided birth control and general medical help, including antibiotics to stop the spread of STD’S, to poor needy woman), he also banned using aborted fetal tissue for stem cell research.

And you think this man is trying to HELP YOU?

I love how you state for us not to reply! All I know is, thanks to Bush, people are dying while on waiting lists to get drugs through ADAP. Other people are having to uproot their lives to find a state where they can get even minimal health care. And, if killing people isn't enough, he now wants to deny marriage rights and benefits to gay couples! Wake up!

Name an administration that has donated more to curing AIDS and HIV than the Bush administration. When people lie about you you'd consider that slander. What is it when you lie about others? Show us where the administration wants HIV+ people dead. Back up you're feeble slanderous words with fact.

FOCUS! If you silly little people would stick to one topic. Democrats don't want gay marriage either. Get over it. Let's spend all that energy on finding a cure. You're uniformed. Don't talk if you don't have FACTS!
