Just wondering...recently saw on Joe Walsh's talk show...the issue of bug catcher's(people who actively seek hiv+ people to infect them) and bug catchers (people who are hiv+ and willingly infect bug catchers). I was shocked. Any opinions. This is crazy to me.

There was a film done in san Francisco about this. It happens...and in England too. It's just weird...but these are people who act irresponsibily in every area of their life!

I am not surprised that some people may think that these people are mentally ill or crazy but try to think beyond the square and understand why people do the things they do. Human behaviour is more complex than we imagine.

It's very real, and happens more than anyone could imagine. In a way, it's a method of suicide...knowingly getting infected with a chronic incurable disease. For many people battling depression and mental illness, bug chasing is a thrill. A lot of people assume that it's an inevitable disease, so why not get infected in their own way under their own terms..when they are ready? It may sound crazy, but it's a huge part of gay culture, and there is a large group of individuals out there engaging in this behavior. Myself included, and now I'm living with regret, self-hatred, and fear. What have I done to myself?
