Hi, Newly HIV, for a couple months. Have a quick question. I'm trying to obtain life insurance, as we all know they won't give policies to people with HIV. I have heard there are some companies Mutual of Omaha and New York Life that do, no questions asked polices. But I can not find any information on them anywhere. Help PLEASE! Also for any smart lawyer types out there, is it illegal to deny HIV + people life insurance, is that discimnating.

I'm just a lawyer type, not a "smart" lawyer type. So I'll direct you to a posting in the "Workplace & Insurance" expert's forum on this site, which addresses the life insurance issue:
http://www.thebody.com/Forums/AIDS/Workplace/Current/Q146644.html
You may want to browse through other postings in that forum as well. It appears life insurance companies can deny policies based on HIV status. It might be discrimination, but it's legal discrimination.
