Study on HIV/AIDS in the Deaf Communit
      #59271 - 02/21/03 09:36 PM

My name is Melissa Adams. I am a hearing student at the Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University. For my Master thesis I am doing interviews with HIV positive Deaf adults to learn about their experience with this disease. The interviews can be conducted by TTY or instant messenger.

WHO: Deaf HIV positive adults (18-64 years old).

WHY: The Deaf and Hard of Hearing are overlooked by most public
health agencies in HIV/AIDS prevention efforts. I hope to gain
information that can be used to improve HIV/AIDS prevention programs
targeting the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and to decrease the knowledge
gap on this topic.
