HIV/AIDS Research
      #5074 - 06/07/00 06:51 PM

Hello. I think this is a great site! I am researching HIV and AIDS for a novel I am writing. The lead character, a hetero male, has found out that he is HIV+. This is a story about a courageous person fighting and living, and in the end, sorry to say, dying of AIDS.

If anyone is willing to tell their story or give me some input on how someone deals with this illness, please e mail me at aidsresearcher@yahoo.com. I would love to hear from anyone that has been affected by HIV and AIDS. All responses will be answered. I am looking to hear from hetero/gay/bi/men/women/pos and neg. All information will be kept confidential and is only used for research. I would like to be able to portray what really goes on when:
Finding out you are HIV+
Faced with illnesses related to HIV
Choosing treatments
Dealing with family and friends
Family has to deal with the realization that this is fatal
Planning memorial services

And I need to know how long before HIV becomes AIDS?
What HIV illnesses are fatal without it being AIDS?

Thank you for any help you can give me. This book is intended to be a positive outlook on AIDS and how it affects everyone around the infected person.

Thanks Again,
Spyder

Spyder,

I hate to say it, but people don't die of AIDS anymore - they die of poverty!
