10 years and protease are finally working...
      #491 - 03/30/00 12:53 PM

10 years and protease are finally working for me. It only took
going through all four. Mode of transmission: unknown.
Ex-hustler, dope fiend, alcoholic, sadomasochist,recovering
southern baptist, living in Los Angeles but use to travel
extensively, writer/author, clean and sober for three years that
believes firmly in miracles, life before and after death, long
walks in nature and the ability to overcome any obstacle. I have
spent the last three years learning about me and accepting life.
I believe a man is truly defined in history by who he is and not
what he has. I love to take my doctors to school about new
advancements, new clinical trials, and how important spiritual
medicine is to those of us that have been around much longer than
anyone expected. I am out about my diagnosis because it
eliminates a lot of hassles. Most but not all people fear what
they don't understand. I have learned to use that to my
advantage. I use to use it for manipulation, but now its for
activism. I write the community spotlight article for Positive
Living magazine, an AIDS Project Los Angeles publication, on a
monthly basis. Two and a half years ago, I was preparing for my
eventual death. Today, I accept what I can and can't do but most
of all I am not waiting to die.
