My name is Cecilia, I'm an HIV+ women. When I was nineteen, in
1990, living my rebeld and challengeous adolescence, looking for
any kind of limits in life (or who knows what) I used intravenous
druggs. In 1993 while I was recovering my understanding I got
tested +, it was a big confusion but it was also a great moment
in my life. In that moment I decided that I had already
accomplish enough of my self-destructive part so it was a moment
to begin to let place for the more constructive part of myself.
In 1993 I met an incredible HIV+ man, who teached me about life
and love and awaked my spirituality. He was gone in february
1994. Over the end of 1994 I changed definitly my way of life
quitting alcohol and druggs, and living in a more much healthy
way. Little by little I've learned to enjoy life as it comes. I'm
originally from Uruguay but I'm now working as a consultant (I'm
computer analyst, luckily I never stop studing), I travell around
USA wherever work takes me. I never took medication and my only
symptom is inflamation on my gangles. Last month I had my first
viral load test and it appeared to be INDETECTABLE!!!! This was
kind of miracle and I'm still trying to understand what happened
in this last 7 years( ???) Since I knew that I was + I had
different experiences with + and - men (always letting them know
about my status). My last relationship was with an - man and it
hurted me a lot when as time passed he began to feel fears and
concerns (which I can really understand but still hurted me) so I
want to get away from this kind of situations at least for a
while. I am thankfull to life and HIV itself, as in some way it
saved my life (I know this is in some way hard to understand but
it's my experience). I hope we all get a positif balance of
HIV/AIDS. I hope that very soon it became past. I hope we all
learn a lot from it. All my love for you all and always remember
