Hi Everybody: This weekend will be the commemoration of World Aids Day. It's been 6 months since Karl died after having been full-blown for 8 years. His close friend whom I have also come to know this last 2 years is also considered a 'long-term survivor' of full-blown AIDS, both diagnosed 'back in the day' when only monotherapies existed; but whose lives were both extended significantly by the triple cocktail of the last 6-8 years. Karl's friend is now in end-stage... . So G-man = I know exactly what you mean in your posts; I think that younger folks may not have as much familiarity with the reality of AIDS' deaths, (which is a good thing, but may diminish real understanding...), as people who developed full-blown AIDS, (or have watched friends who have done so), prior to the wide-spread use of triple cocktail meds. Anyway, I'm just feeling a bit sad; missing Karl and with his (our) friend so ill; but at least there is HOPE! Please take care everyone, sincerely, Karla
