My story isn't unique but I'd like to share. I'm a 41 year old gay male who tested positive in 1988. At the time I thought it was the end and told my lover I wished for it to hurry up, kill me and get it over with. Soon after, I came to my senses and began living again. I've gone through most of the "cocktail" options and unless they come out with some more new drugs, I'm reaching the end of my choices. I took disability 3 years ago and at the time didn't expect to live more that 18 to 24 months--but here I am and feeling good. My CD4 count hasn't been over 65 in about 4 years and viral load has fluctuated from a low of 4500 to a high of 300,000--currently 46,000. I know this disease controls much of our lives but we can't let it control our attitude towards living. Everyone keep a positive attitude and share your feelings with others. For it's in sharing we can uplift each other and deal with all the emotional turmoil we go through. Dovler@imagenet1.com Reply
