single and living with HIV
      #3188 - 04/06/00 01:13 PM

Hi! I am tired of being alone, living with this disease. It seems as though it is impossible to find someone who is not drug-dependent or an ex-con or really bi-sexual to date when you have HIV, among our population at least. Trying to date someone who is not HIV positive presents a whole set of other problems. They can claim that they aren't worried about it but it's always there, right under the surface waiting to come out and ruin the relationship.

I also have two daughters who are not sick, Thank God, but they are my top priority. Not many people understand that, unfortunately.

I am an aspiring writer and am working to get some major things published so that I can rejoin the main stream of the world instead of being relegated for the rest of my life to the ranks of low income and dependency. I don't want to be dependent upon the Government for my survival and standard of living. It makes me nervous. Things are changing and we all need to empower ourselves to survive.

Anyway, these are my thoughts of the day. If anyone agrees, disagrees, etc, please write back. It's lonely out here in the country without anyone who is willing to admit their status. Take care and take your meds, no matter how nasty they taste, ok?

Much love and care,
Your fellow warrior,
Ann Margaret
Texas
