Any suggestions on facial wasting treatment options in San Francisco? anyone who has had a succesful cheek implant and that could recommend the doctor?

i had a face full of cymetra that was doing a good job of fixing some of the damage the lipodystrophy had done on my face. it looked great and i had touchups every 3 or 4 months

I don't know what facial wasting treatment options there are in San Francisco (I am from Canada), but as a person who has exhausted this topic myself I can tell you that the best information I found was from reading the "Ask the Experts" in this website in the "Wasting/Diet and Nutrition" column.
Clearly the New Fill injections sound the best but it's my understanding that it isn't very easy to obtain. I think there is a doctor in Miami who is doing this. You can find out from that column. Warning, it is expensive.
Personally I opted for silicone Facial implants. (it was all that was available out here). It has helped tremendously but by no means do I look like my former self. Nevertheless, it is far better than it was!

P.S. If stopping the drugs were that simple I'd have done it. I agree that my body is screaming at me to ease up but my CD4 counts would likely plummet too low. For some people it IS safe to take a drug holiday although I don't think the face improves too much in most cases.

Way too much. Just get off the drugs and you will save tons of money and misery.

The cost for Silicone Implants in Canada is $4,000.00 CDN Funds. (a one time payment) It is my understanding that New Fill (or PLA), which is charged to the patient per treatment and can take anywhere from four to seven treatments, totals up to something like $10,000.00 U.S.but I am not 100% sure on that.

What is Cymetra? I have not heard of this one, I too am suffering from lipodystophy.
