Could these be symptoms?
      #3074 - 04/05/00 09:42 PM

For the past year and a half I have had almost constant pressure and sometimes pain in my ears. Also the same feeling in neck JUST BELOW the ears. No real swelling though. Sometimes it's only in the neck and sometimes ears and neck together.I have been to the Dr. several times, she says NO ear infection and she says NO swollen glands. But they FEEL swollen to me, not to the touch but just inside, to me. It is almost constant and varies from mild to major and seems to get worse when I drive sometimes ( weird hu)? In the past month my lower legs have broken out twice with red bumps that itch very badly. SOme of the bumps turn blister like and pop a clear liquid. Everyone say this is not hives because hives won't blister! Then they all go away in a few days. Leaving a light scar so far. Could these be hiv/aids symptoms? I ahve not been any sicker than what is normal for me in the past 4 years. I did have unprotected sex before I was married four+ years ago. I am really scared. I have not told my husband of my concerne yet. We have no insurance either :( I know I should get tested how do you work up the courage?

Although I am not a doctor I can tell you that it does not sound like
any symptoms of hiv to me. I think you are being paranoid. However if
there is a concern to yourself than you owe it to your partner to get
a test. If your nodes are swollen you will know it. Symptoms would be
your nodes swollen under your arms, groin area, neck. You would have
night sweats and chills and believe me the chills are not like any
chills you've had before. You would have fatigue and tiredness ect.
When someone starts showing signs it's like there's really no other
illness to compare it to. That's my own personal opinion and others
may not be the same. We all get tested for different reasons. I'm
sure you are worrying about nothing. Sounds to me like you have stress
and even stress can make you break out in hives. Good Luck.

Hi Cee Cee,
your blisters sound to me like something called herpes zoster, which is chickenpox shingels. I'm not a doctor, but I had something like that once. It can be from a weakened immune system, but it doesn't mean that you are HIV+.
If you know that you have had unprotected sex, and feel you have a chance of being infected, you have to put yourself together and get tested. The earlier you are diagnosed, and the more chances you have of living a long and healthier life.
Good luck
