I am pretty certain that I was exposed two months ago, and since then have been doing a lot of research on HIV / AIDS. I have discovered that Opportunistic Infections often accompany Acute HIV infection, which I believe that I experienced (all of my tests are still negative). Since infection, my legs and arms have started to make jerking movements, uncontrollably. This movement often wakes me up in the middle of the night. It is not a shaking or continuous movement, nor is it noticeable to anyone else, but it occurs about once every four minutes, and it seems to be getting worse. I am afraid that this might be a symptom of an Opportunistic infection. I have also had excruciating pain in my lower back. ANY IDEAS on what might be causing this? It is difficult to see a doctor without knowing for certain whether or not I have the illness, and the Viral tests are sooooooo expensive. PLEASE HELP ME! Thanks! Elena

i dont see how these could be hiv symptons if you were only exposed 2 or 3 months ago. i have leg jumping but that is from the zerit which causes neuropathy but you are not on meds yet so i dont know, see a doc, that is the only way, its hard but once you find out then you can sort your mind out which is the most important part of this whole thing.
GO! and stop worrying, you can be OK!

Low back pain can be caused by mental stress. Don't worry yourself sick.

There are places you can be tested ANONYMOUSLY for HIV!! Go get tested and stop worrying! I've never heard of anything that would make you jerky after being exposed. Sounds like it's your nerves.
