Dear ALL,
I am just wondering how risky it is to perform cunnilingus on an HIV+ woman? Have many people (perhaps others on this message board?) got HIV by doing this? What if the person performing cunnilingus has a mild sore throat?
I know that in each case a risky activity should be avoided. I am just trying to assess the risk.

It is not a good idea to perform oral sex on someone who is infected. Yes of course it puts you at high risk, especially if you come in contact with blood, or fluid. However HIV is not passed through saliva, so them performing oral sex on you would not put you at risk. Take Care.

My doctor has told me as long as you stay exterior that it is a truly minimal risk. I don't think a sore throat would affect this, but something open like a cold sore could.
