I went to the ocean beach Sunday . I live at the shore but haven't gone in years. The water was chilly at first. , the waves friendly and I was in the company of my neighbors. Well swimming with her son, his mom who is my age doesn't do oceans. It was great till it was time to get out . Between the undertow and the crashing waves I couldn't get out to save my own life, and let me tell you all I was scared. Every time I stepped up this sand ledge the under tow pulled the sand from under my feet and the waves were no longer friendly, They crashed me to the ground. My friends realized I wasn't behind them and thankfully came back to resue me. Otherwise I'd still be struggling or worse yet SHARK BAIT. Moral of the story ...NEVER SWIM ALONE. And the life guards did nothing , I was too embarrased to scream for help. Me and my skinny legs were shaking whenmy neighbors son pulled me out. But I kept my big girl face on and didn't cry ( almost though )

That had to be scary. Thank goodness someone was there to save the day like Underdog! I was 14 the first time I saw the ocean, was a weak swimmer at the time (better now) the same thing happened. It was intimidating at first, but I remembered that if you swim parallel to the shore at an angle you are usually fine.

Hey iam1, You would think I got this Flickr thing figured out. Kicker gave me great instructions, but this is River tryin to figure it out and I don't figure things out the easy way . No matter how simple the steps are. After all I'm a Jersey Girl born and bred and still couldn't get out of the ocean ! lol Give me a wet paper bag , maybe that would be easier for me to get out of. lol
