I don't care

I've returned back to work this month after being told I'm not sick enough and I 'm not trying hard enough. Now that I'm back at work I learned my Dr wants to see me but I'm without a car again so transportation is difficult. I catch the bus to work everyday. Back In November I stopped my meds for a couple of weeks and since I've returned back to work I think I've only missed one day. But since my Dr wants to see me I don't care to see anymore drs and If I miss my meds I don't care. If' I miss anytime from work it counts against me even with a dr notes. Last I checked my T cells were still in the 200s and my viral load and dropped to 8000. A part of me feels I just go back life before I found out I was positive and whatever happens happens, after all I'm not sick enough right.

Hang in there, It's not the end of the world but stay on your meds! It's pertinent that you do. No, life will never be the same again but each and every person everyday has to adapt to new things, good and bad. Were in this together. Mike

If you are in the US then you are covered by the American with Disabilities Act, which would mean they must accommodate you for time off to see your doctor. It's a sticky wicket since you will have to disclose to your HR department and that leaves you open to someone in your company knowing.

Have you given thought to trying to find a different doctor that has hours the co-incide with your work hours? For example by me , where I live in Jersey I go to the health dept. where they have an Hiv/aids clinic one night a week as well as one day a week. Don't take the I don't care attitude, just see about a different venue.

you already know your status, and you cant go back only forward. hiv is manageable if you adhere to therapy.

There are days when I just don't care either. I get tired of taking my meds. tired of my body aching , tired of jusy going through my everyday stuff. But then I just take a good look at myself and see that this is just something that I'm feeling and going through for now and that this too shall pass. I may lay low for the rest of the day but I know come tomorrow I will begin my life once again and make the most of it. We all have crap moments , just flush it and keep going.

I agree with riverprincess. Don't stop taking your meds! We can live great lives, but the easiest way to prevent that is to stop your regimen.
Do you have a support network of any kind - people who know you're positive and want to/can be there for you?
-------------------- I'm sorry. I can't hear you over this popcorn.

Some people know but now I'm back to my routine like I was before I tested positive. I haven't been to a support group and I live alone. So if I'm feeling down or anything I just deal with it on my own.
