My spouse is taking the liquid Norvir and cannot tolerate the taste. We have been buying empty gelatin capsules, filling them with the liquid Norvir. We would like to search for a cheaper price on these empty capsules. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please post here or send to email address, thanks.

I have found that taking the med as one would a shot of alcohol leaves me with very little after-taste. I place the dose in a small pill bottle, and add any liquid (water, milk, tea etc.) and simply shoot it like I would a shot of tequilla. I have noticed some responses attempting to direct you to stop your meds altogether. I'll simply say this. In the last 19 months, I have been on the combination threapy. Prior to that I had not been on anything. Prior to that my energy level was very low, I was tired all the time. At the time I began therapy, my CD4 count was 44 and my viral load was just under one-half million. 7 weeks after beginning meds, my viral load was undectable, my CD4 had little more than doubled, and my energy level had ent through the roof. That was 19 months ago. Today, I remain undetectable, my CD4 has risen to 156, and I continue to have a very high energy level.
Why say all of this, maybe just to give some hope to you and your spouse. I realize that not all people can handle the meds, and not all people respond to them. But I don't think throwing the baby out with the bath water is the answer. People were getting sick and dying from these illnesses before any of the "killer" meds were made available. In the long term, I may eventually suffer side effects. (As off now, I have had none.) But I am convinced that without the meds, my time was extremely limited. At least now, I have hope.
