Atripla -- High Triglycerides, Lovaza or Lopid use

My husband was diagnosed with HIV in 2009. He'd obviously been POS for quite a long time. (2,000,000+ HIV count, T cell 180). He went on Atripla, quickly reducing his HIV count from 2M-500K-50K-500 every 3 months, now undetectable. His T cells has been increasing 50-80 a year since then, its 393 now.
I don't want to intefere with what's working on his HIV but his triglicerides are 516. LDL is 75, HDL is 35, total chlolesterol is 225.
I have a family history of heart disease, high blood pressure, and high chlolesterol so I know the TRI is bad, as well as the HDL. I have some of my families problems but not a big deal so far, but it took months to convince him to stop buying whole milk and butter, had to refuse what he cooked for dinner in order for him to change our diet.
So convincing him to really cut down on sugar really won't work to help. Its taken me 18 months to convince to go see his GP again.
So are Lopid or Lovaza a good option to get my stubborn man to reduce his TRIs?

i had the same probs in the past, i corrected with the doc's recommendation.... because im on my last med options, and many at that, he didnt want me on any that could hinder the others... so... i drank ONE glass of red wine with supper each nite for a couple weeks, and it leveled out both ends of the cholesterol...just my experience, im not a doctor*

I could drink a red with dinner every night  He's not a wine drinker, when he gets something to drink its something sweet.
Almost 3 years on Atripla and after the initial adjustment period the only things so far are the triglycerides and vitamin D deficiency. He pops a few vitamin D gelcaps with every meal, what's another pill to take at mealtime? He's not on any prescriptions besides Atripla at night so he's been very lucky so far.

im not a wine drinker either, however i did it for the betterment of my health... i know ya care about the guy, but he wont help himself, your help wont matter either. good luck & god bless
