Neg spouses with children

I lost my husband in June 1999. He was diagnosed in April. We
have a 6 year old that just had to spend his first birthday without his dad. We were
married 14 years and I am also neg. So is my son. THIS IS A TERRABLE DISEASE!!!
Not only does it put the victim in pain, but the rest of us have to LIVE with the pain of
loss. My church has been very supportive, but that dosen't help at times like now...he
was more than my husband, he was my best friend...I miss that the most. I would like to know if there are others that feel the same way.

I found out that my partner of 15 years had AIDS when I recieved a phone call to tell me he had PCP. We have two children 11 and 9 and he had HIV since we were first together, although we were seperated it is still an awful shock for all of us, he looked so well. Thank God My two children and myself have tested negative. I am so confused y it all, does anyone else know of other cases like this?

Yes, I know of a woman who married and had two children with a man. They found out within 8 years of the marriage that he had been infected before he married. The children and his wife were all negative. He died in 1995. His wife and children are still fine. So yes, it does happen--look at Magic Johnson's wife and kid, Arthur Ashe's wife...even Rick Hudson's former partner!
Although it happens... most people are not so lucky!
