i was out on the 4th, only in yard.(close to park, i can see fireworks from yard). as i was sitting and pounding a few beers, (yeah, i know)i was virually eatin alive by misquitoes. its not a surprise to me getting bit by the critters, or how many times. my surprise was i knew i put on some spray just for this problem. so my quandry is how do we deal with bug bites in such a high number? i have bites from 4 weeks ago that are still visually apparent and now with so many more, my legs look like i was welding without pants on. any ideas to dealing with not just the bites but the overwhelming appearance of these sores that never seem to want to heal. i will talk with my doc when i go next week, but was looking for a few general ideas dealing with these bites. thanks for any ideas.take care

have you tried some aloe? gel is ok, but you can also grow your own plant and have fresh aloe every day for all things skin-related!

That would be my recommendation, aloe and vitamin E. Vitamin E worked wonders on my scars from the shoulder surgery I had last year as a result of my accident.
It's funny you mention bug bites because my girlfriend and I were joking the other night that we pitied any mosquito that drank our blood - we were laughing saying that you could watch them try to fly away, and that they would just drop out of the air, dead, from the HAART meds hitting their little bodies!

I, too, have problems with sores from bites, scratches etc. that sometimes do not heal. I joke that the mosquitoes in my neighborhood appear to have teeth!
What works for me is to apply rubbing alcohol 2 or more times a day to the sores. If this does not work, I use a 50/50 solution of househould bleach/water (which I keep in a spray bottle in the shower).
Good Luck!

Thank god you wrote this post. I thought I was going crazy/or that's what my friends made me think. Last summer spending 2 weeks @ a lakehouse in wisc. The mesquito's were crazy!!!! My friends would all spray themselves with the spray and tolerate it, with maybe 1 bite. I would use the same spray, and be bitten like 30 timest. Took almost 2 months to heal. I feel like the mesquito's knew I was weaker and targeted me.
