Questions about possible KS lesions
      #254773 - 03/11/11 11:30 PM

I was wondering if KS lesions are able to be scraped or cut off?

I have a dark brown spot on my thigh, and I scraped it of. It was not a scab. However, when i scraped off the discolored skin, the flesh underneath was the normal color. Also, there was little, if no blood. Do KS lesions bleed a lot, due to the concentration of blood vessels?

It sounds more like a "blood blister" from a broken blood vessel at the time of a past injury, that finally worked it's way to the surface. Years ago, I hit my thigh against a table corner while carrying something, and got a nasty blood blister. it took months to work its way up, but when it did, it was similar to what you described.

How is your overall health? If your CD4's are high and your VL is low/ND, it seems unlikely for KS to be able to get you.

Read this, it might help you:

What you describe seems not at all like what the article defines as KS.
