I too am to have this surgery but very scared about it. OI don't know what to expect either, so I will be looking to see what responses you get. I know that now, sex is out of the question for me because I'm too scared to even do that. Haven't had sex for quite a while now - can't remember the last time. Recently separated from my no sex relationship after four years. Now I'm just mostly lonely.

hey guys, i had this surgery a long time ago when i was quite young. you will live through it with 2 things: pain killers and fibre supliments. it should be day surgery so please make sure someone is going to take you home, put you in bed and stay with you for a while. the next day, the area down there is going to hurt like nobody's business and you should be already prescribed pain killers so start popping 'em. you should be able to walk after about 2 - 3 days (no kidding). and then the only problem is when you need to do your daily "constitutional". which is like putting a train through the eye of a needle for the first few weeks. i used to get migrains after my trips to the loo. you may be given a local desensitizers for the area, please apply after the loo trip. this will help. i used to go to the loo, apply the cream, pop a lude, lay down for a while, get up, continue with my day. hope this helps, either way, you'll be back in action after about a month. following this experence, you will find an accute awareness of the importance of checking your partner's goods before you get down to it.

well it has been one week to day since I have had surgery for anal warts...Surgery went well with very little pain.The only pain I have had is when you go to the bathroom.Make sure you clean with tucks and put neosporin on.For those who are worried about having this surgery, It wasnt that bad.just eat soft food.you may need to take some tyenol to help with minor pain...I wish every one facing this the best---Lewie

hey this is the best advice in addition to what's already been said. Ask your doctor for a prescription for lidocaine ointment. it will really help for using the bathroom. I can't say that tylenol helped. but my doc gave me oxy and the lidocaine. I didn't really use the oxy (made me loopy) but the ointmeant you can rub gently right on the raw spots, even inside and it goes delightfully numb so you can do your business.
also this might sound gross but if you had any inside, they may harden for some weeks and you think they aren't going away but they are. it takes time for them to harden as the cells die and slough off. but during that time they can be really sore and painful when using the bathroom. I found that putting your finger on them while you do your business helps eliminate any pain.
if you are still bleeding after 2 weeks, tell your doctor. continue to take care of yourself and they shouldn't come back to bother you. months after you fully recover I suggest getting tea tree oil and periodically applying to the area. I actually was using this to treat before I swallowed my embarrassment and told my doctor. it may sting but trust me it works (just not as quickly as surgery).
