Do other people feel "static" on your skin?
      #233482 - 11/09/07 05:36 AM

Over the past two years, while I have been on the HIV medication, my partner, who is a scientist, has often noted a feeling similar to "static" on my skin. This is something that is meaningless to me - I can't feel it. Only the other person does. The other person does not get any "crackling" - as you sometimes do when touching electrical equipment - but apparently "static" is the closest word to describe the feeling. Apparently it's as if my skin were wet but, in fact, it is always found to be completely dry. I should also say that this "static quality" is not always present. Apparently it is there sometimes, and sometimes not.

Of course, this is only "a problem" to me in so far as it is slightly disconcerting to my partner, when touching me.

The drugs I am taking are:
Nevirapine
Tenofovir
Lamivudine

If anyone else has experienced this sensation when touching another person's skin, or anyone has been told that their skin gives this sensation, please let me know.

Thanks.
