postive drug screen

hello everyone, i was started on atripla 6 months ago and i'm going to start a new job which i have to take a urine drug test. i have read that sometimes atripla causes a false positive for canabus(marijuana)(weed), how true is this. i really need the job and the insurance. any advice will help.......thanks alots

im not sure but i know poppy seeds from bread producs will make a false positive for illegal drugs.hope this helps some.

It's the Sustiva in the Atripla that is in it that can cause that's false postive. If you get a postive result on your drug test the Medical Review Officer or someone from that office will get in touch with you before releasing your results. They will ask what prescriptions you are taking. Make sure you tell them that you are taking Atripla. Request a screen specific for the Canabus (THC). Atripla won't cause a false positive on the specific test.

I’m tested regularly for my work. I’ve found that you don’t need to go into detail about what meds you’re on. However, do disclose that you are on them. That way they can test for it and not have you test twice or make a bad impression w/ your employer.

Get a note from your doc stating this,then you could actually smoke canabis (only if thats what your into, of course)
