I am a 15-year HIV positive long-term asymptomatic survivor. I have been vvery fortunate with my meds... I have never had a drug reaction from anything I have taken to control the replication of my virus. I have had an undetectable viral load since 10/96 and have had a T-cell count above 600 since 1/97. Currently I have my PCR done at a lab in California since their test is sensitive to as low as 20 parts. I take low doses of Norvir (Ritonavir), Zerit (d4T) and Fortovase (the new gel formualtion of Saquinavir). I am mostly Eastern European origin. My Irish roots can also be traced to the sailors of Spanish Fleet who settled in Ireland after their shipwreck in the 16th century. Also my European ancestors were predominantly Gyspies (Romani) and were therefore not part of an insulated society, but rather one that had exposure to many different life situations. I am convinced that my survival can be partly attributed to my ancestors having survived the Black Death. Some scientists agree with this theory. I would be interested in corresponding with others who may share my genetic background and have had good viral control results. E-mail me at Crucifyd69@aol.com
