Anyone having trouble with Truvada

Since beginning Truvada I have been plagued by frequent, loose BMs. I was taking Emtriva and Viread separately before with little side effects; but, shortly after beginning Truvada, I started having these gastric issues. The BMs are bad enough but the wind, goodness. Sometimes my office smells like a stockyard, I have lemon spray; but, occasionally one of my employees pops into my office and gets that pinched look, you know.......

Maybe you could burn insense and explain to people that you have become a Buddist and that its the feast of the elephant ot something. lol
Seriously, I dont think there is much you can do other than try to control what you eat. Some foods turn into very pungent gas. Kurt has incredibly pungent farts as well. However our cat puts him to shame. I came home the other day and said" Oh my god, Kurt did u just fart? Oh, no, its Buster, he just had a huge poop and didn't cover it up."

yea I know. Its kind of that realization that we get when our conversation with friends usually turns to aches and pains and pills....oh my we must be getting old!!!!!!!
Well, the roast pork loin was the most pungent gas producer this week. As long as Kurt sticks to a bland diet(chicken) with plenty of salads and veggies he is fine....but when you marinate a pork loin and roast it on the barbeque...watch out!

you know thats the same issues i have with truvda,since i started on meds 3 years ago,and although i have had terrible gas,its the only pill i havent had changed.i had told my doc about it and i had some anti shits pills.they seem to work but they leave me feeling like im bloated,until i make a move in the reading room.but it sure does work if you want to be left alone,sometimes i cant stand the smell of myself,some real bad stuff.see if your doc can give you some anti diarhea pills,they do help a little

Maybe some of those anti-gas pills like Beano before eating would help cut down on the problem.

I have always had this trouble - first with Viracept then with truvada. I use pyslium seed husk (2 TBS with glass water)
I buy this in bulk at health food store (much cheaper)
It takes a while to grow acustomed to the added fiber... but if your gut is like mine this should provide great relief.

oatmeal before bed... i don't use milk, i use water instead & mix a little brown sugar for taste. makes for a happy belly.
