It is with a caveat, your assigned doctor has to refer you to a dental examining unit, which assesses your dental condition. If they find evidence of an HIV related disease or condition, they will refer you to a dentist. HIV related conditions are necrosis of the gums or nerves in the teeth, periodontal disease, etc.
Once in the system, you get quarterly cleanings and check-ups. But, you must never miss an appointment, no matter how inconvenient the time or place, or you risk losing your place in the system.
I got in, but found the level of care and the facilities not to my liking and quickly switched to a private dentist, White Dental Clinic, which I believe is a franchise operation in the UK. With the presence of the National Health keeping costs down, I found private dental surprisingly affordable.
Before moving to the UK, I had terrible problems with my gums and was often in the dentist's chair with abscessed gums. After my years living in the UK, receiving care from the exceptional and caring dentists and technicians I found there, my gums have been sorted since.
Cheers,
