I'm planning a trip to Eastern Europe and Russia. However, I'm not sure if I'm taking an unreasonable risk with my health, given that my CD4 count is around 200. My doctor seems especially wary of Russia, but I've heard a couple of others who say it shouldn't be a major concern. Does anyone have any reliable info? Thanks!!!

You might want to drink bottled water and avoid food from street vendors, but otherwise you are perfectly safe in Russia and Eastern Europe. By Easten Europe since you are off to Russia, I assume you mean Poland, the Ukraine, Georgia, and the "L" countries?
The sex workers in Russia and Easten Europe are riddled with disease. I would take some porn and a bottle of slippyslidy rather than take a chance with them. Just a suggestion, a lot of US Americans are tempted by the cheap prices of sex with Slavs who are a very attractive race of people.
Your CD4 is never too low to travel in my estimation. Just to be safe make sure your insurance covers you in foreign countries and if it doesn't buy a comprehensive medical policy with an emergency airlift provision. A number of companies offer these policies and your travel agent should be able to give you several to choose from.
Bon voyage,
