Yea...Results of Biopsy Are IN

Three weeks ago I had a colonoscopy and one week ago I had an endoscopy. The first goes up the bum and the second goes down the throat. I think they meet in the middle!!
Anyway, I have had problems with acid reflux disease for years and years and my doctor started me on NEXIUM after it came out. She (yes my doctor is a great woman) wanted me to do these tests but I resisted for at least three years. Who wants to poop all night long then have something stuck so far up in there the sun dont shine? Well, the results of the colonoscopy were good. No problem. However, the results of the endoscopy showed an area of badly damaged tissue which in the picture they took looked a very nasty bluish purple. ( I think it was supposed to be a nice pink). This is referred to as Barretts Syndrome: simply that damaged cells are replaced by my body with cancer prone cells. They took a biopsy and the call just came in: not progressed to cancer.
So, now I get to do the happy dance!!!!!

Faith......The doctor said to just keep taking the NEXIUM .....forever....for the rest of my life
But I know what my doctor is going to say and I dont want to hear it.

I'm sure it won't be pleasant...but in the end (no pun in tended) better to cut of (again no pun intended) problems before they get out of control!

congrats on the good results bear....i too put off a procedure needin done,because of its location...and now its quite a pain in my ass...LOL.
