My girlfriend and I are both positive. she got it from me i know that for sure. would it be recommended for us to wear condoms? I don't see the point because we both have the same strain right? how could it get any worse?

each time ya get infected, it causes mutation of the strain, even if its of the same strain.....USE CONDOMS!!! You both dont have the same strain i assure you, each individual is different, thier body reacts differently......just because you may have infected her doesnt mean she has the exact strain as you do.... If ya keep having unprotected sex i can tell ya whats coming....eventually, you create a strain the meds wont cover, and will have a rapid progression rate, which means you wont live very long.....I'd take an honest look at what you are doing...
Good Luck & God Bless*

Wow, that's nuts. how long wold it take to create that strain the meds wont cover? like years of unprotected sex or could it just be like 10 or 20 times of unprotected sex?

most people dont develop ARS symptoms, those that do develop them , overlook them as the flu or a cold.....I would suggest you both go to an infectous disease specialist and tell them what you have been doing as far unprotected sex goes, and your status, and have them run some tests....

theres no timeline to go by with anything on this disease, because it affacts each of us differently, and each react differently....so i cant tell ya how long it would take for that to happen*

My husband and i are both infected according to the doc with the same strain. However, the way that particular strain acts in our bodies are different. For example, we have different cd4 counts and viral loads. Even though our strain isn't resistent to meds, my husband and i were told to use condoms every single time. Each time you have unprotected sex, you are introuducing the virus back into eachothers systems. My husband's viral load is significantly higher than mine. Therefore, I would be getting exposed to a more potient amount of hiv. My husband and i decided that it just isn't worth the risk. I mean if you knew that a particular food made you sick or harmed you everytime you ate it would you? I suggest that you and your gf seek medical attention so that a doc can give you the education you need. Good luck to you and your gf. Take care of yourselves!

having hiv/aids doesnt mean stop have having sex....it means start having protected sex.....Latex condoms and water base lubricant....life can be pretty much the same as it was, you just have to change the way ya do some things, such as sex.....
