too many christians are saying that aids and hiv are the wrath of god on homosexuals. what actually happened was a doctor who was born again bioengineered aids in a lab, infected someone that he knew was gay(because like most christians, he hates gay people), and the rest is history. if these jokers are right, why do heterosexuals and even virgins get this man-made virus?

Really? Is that how it happened? I always wondered when the truth would surface. Nice to hear it straight from someone who was there. I guess I can stop worrying about how it went down, and concentrate on the poor heterosexuals and virgins. Why are they getting it? Obviously the Christian doctor hates them, too. It only makes sense. God bless you!

Always ask when someone says that HIV is a punishment for gays: Why is it rare for LESBIANS to get HIV? Are women who are lesbians more palatable?

NUboi..... u need to correct what you wrote here. Maybe you werent thinking..... but what you said was: aids just affects homosexuals...and we know thats not true....as for the whole world....well HIV has made its way around the globe.
I really hope this was a mistake on your part and not a reflection of how you think.

Current medical thinking suggests that aids was not created by man but it was accidently passed on from animal to man. In the early 1950's polio was endemic. Developed countries had begun having success with vaccines to treat polio. Using similar principles a doctor in Africa used monkey plasma as the vaccine base because it was cheap. Over one million african people were treated with the vaccines. What they didn't know was that the monkeys carried the Simian immune deficiency virus (SIV), a virus that targets the immune cells of monkeys. Usually this would not cause infection in people but it is believed that a freak mutation allowed for SIV to infect human cells. This mutation was passed to some of the people vaccinated resulting in a new human virus (HIV). I really don't think religion plays any role in the physical spread of HIV, just the mindsets of people confronted with it the way communities deal with it.
