Hi there -- does anyone have suggestions about a helpful book or resource for the parents of someone who is positive? Like a "coming out" about HIV help book? Something with facts, and stories about living with HIV that helps express it is not a death sentence... THANK YOU!

Try Focus on Living. Has photos and life stories of people with HIV. Or have them come to this site and read the stuff in Just diagnosed section.

I know some organisations that can help you but these are based in the UK, as I am from London. I know many people on here are from the usa, so not sure where you are based.

You didn't say where you live, but when I am looking for information I always start with the local HIV organizations. They often have very good resources and may have some more local things that may help. As a parent, you might also look for your local PFLAG chapter - while it is primarily a gay organization, they have great resources. There is also the GMHC in NYC (GMHC.COM) or AIDS Survival Project in Atlanta - both of which have good websites.
Best of luck to you and bless you for your support of your son. Learning you are HIV+ can be a very painful experience. However, with time one learns to accept it and learn that life goes on. :)
