Vision is a strange thing; over the many years of my infection I have had a few changes. The latest just 2 months ago when I was tested was really different for me, I have had to wear glasses for the last 10 years and now I only have to wear them when I am reading and no other time. So for me it has improved, but everyone is different and no one can tell you how your body will respond. Maybe your vision will get worse or maybe different but the same is true for people who are not infected with HIV.

Before the days of effective medications, an AIDS-related complication called CMV could result in blindness. This is much rarer today, since HAART can often keep an HIV+ person's immune system strong enough to avoid such complications. Another reason why it's good to get tested - unchecked HIV can still cause bad opportunistic infections, like CMV.

As the other response said CMV can be a problem with HIV/AIDS patients. Usually only becomes a problem with a cd4 count of <50. One bad sign is "floaters" in your visual field. If you are having changes it's time to go to an opthamologist, you can't be too safe with your eyes. And there are treatments available.
