i am experiencing what i think is the beginnings of hiv neuropathy. in the mornings, i can see the blood fill my lower legs and standing becomes uncomfortable. standing anywhere for long periods of times becomes uncomfortable. my legs are weak. i can stand with my knees locked comfortably. i need to always have a slight bend. my feet fall asleep sooner, and they tingle at times (worse in the morning and nights). also, i have dry skin on my feet and there is dark discoloration on both of the outsides of my ankles with dry patches. what in the world is going on with my feet?

You may think I' m crazy, because I' m happy to hear your story. However, this is only because I thought I was the only person having these neuropic problems. Now if you'll just tell me you have an uninformed foreign doctor, that doesn't offer the least bit of help for the problem... that'll really make my day!!!

Hi, Just offering my two cents. If you think you are having peripheral neuropathy it is possible it is being caused by HIV meds. I had it myself a couple of years back and as soon as I went off of that particular med (I think 3TC...not sure) my feet returned to normal. I truly feel for both of you it is absolutely annoying and sometimes unneccesary with all the drugs available. Tell your doctor and ask him if you could be having the same side effect with a med. Good Luck. :o)
