CBC Blood test
      #99499 - 06/04/04 02:51 PM

I understand CBC blood tests are not the way to diagnose HIV, but what does your WBC do in acute infection? Does it go up or down?

It would be hard to say. The cd4 t cells would go way down but the cd3 cells would go up and so would the granocytes.

My guess is that the total white blood count during seroconversion wouls be higher than normal.

viral infections usually cause a drop in the WBC, but with HIV it is believed that the number can increase or decrease
